In 2014, the Kids in crisis Foundation in the Netherlands 
founded. This foundation raises funds to offer trauma aid to children and to train (new) trauma counsellors in Nigeria. The rivalry between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria has a major effect on the extent of Christian persecution in Nigeria. Boko Haram and the Fulani Muslims have been committing regular attacks for years. They attack Christian villages throughout the country, set houses and churches on fire and kill the Christians. This has been happening for many years, also in the immediate vicinity of our working area in Nigeria. In the north there are a few million people in refugee camps. We see that not only the adults, but also the children are severely traumatized by these horrible events. There are organizations and churches that offer trauma programs to adults. There's hardly any help for the children. The Kids in Crisis Foundation wants to do something about that!
We want to help children in Nigeria to cope with their trauma and to build a hopeful future. The need is great, we can't do it alone, that's why we also train (new) trauma counsellors,
who help children in refugee camps, children's homes, schools and churches.
